ABOUT NICKY

I love my job. I work hard. I like to have fun, but I’m a bugger for the detail. I’m an ideas person, a passionate pitcher & enthusiastic collaborator with over twenty years of successful development & scores of commissions for all the major UK channels.

I’m known for collaborating with very talented people. Most recently the series Frankie Boyles Tour Of Scotland saw Cheeky Grin co-produce with Glasgow based company Two Rivers. The series won the Scottish RTS for Comedy and was nominated for the Scottish BAFTA.

My collaboration with Paul Whitehouse & Bob Mortimer on the BBC2 commission Gone Fishing saw me take the idea from a pitch paragraph to a pilot & beyond to a BAFTA, R.T.S. & Broadcast Award bothering, Broadcast Press & Guild Award winning series.

My work as series producer and exec on Billy Connolly and 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy saw me on the winning team at the RTS, IFTA’s & International Emmy awards.

When my best friend Grandma Peg died, I took a year off to write.  The chance to breathe was ace & cathartic & writing is now a constant source of joy.  In 2017 I got my diploma as an end of life hospice worker – or death doula. An unexpected string to have on my bow – but it’s a string I’m very proud of.

Outside of Cheeky Grin, I’m a gun for hire. Always up for a chat about the next adventure.
